February 14th
Is it considered rude if….

I ask the middle eastern male or female on the other end of the line from Lloyds TSB to continually repeat themselves because I have no idea what they are saying. They always talk so fast aswell, fucking joke having foreigners that you clearly can’t understand, control your money and bank account.

And it’s as if you are talking to some automated robot, programmed to say certain things to certain replies, no emotion or personality, just a conversation of machine gun propelled words that are too fast to even make out.***

February 13th I’m not a huge fan of using the prism finder, rather use the waist level viewfinder, far better to use for focusing and the frame looks much sharper. The prism finder has a light meter inside it though which is absolutely ideal!
Wish people would stop flaking out on letting me take portrait pictures of them! Need some more pics of females aswell, Brian the Bronica is sick of looking at ugly males!
Back in the darkroom to develop some more films on Wednesday, and scan the negatives from last week’s films I developed.
February 2nd Just turned 25. Honestly thought I’d have my life sorted by now, with a decent job and my own place, yet I still live at home and no potential job prospects worthy of going for. Why work a shitty dead end job when you’re worth so much more then that? I’d rather hold out, wait for the opportunity or a life adventure to arise.
You finish school, you’re told you must attend college. You finish college, and you’re told to study a degree. What they don’t tell you, is that everybody has the same idea nowadays. We are taught through school and college to dream big, aspire to and work hard to obtain great things, and that every single person is capable of this. Only, not every single person can grow up to be a famous artist, or designer, or become a wealthy businessman. You graduate from university with your scroll of paper that shows the world you did it. You have a degree, only that the ratio of graduates is far more then the amount of jobs that are actually available in your field of work. You’re one of the jobless, a statistic the radio tells you about on a day-to-day basis. And you have to wonder, there’s something strangely wrong somewhere.
So I’m basically playing about with the possibility that I should dive in and set up my own photography business with the ethos and ideas I’ve always had to make it successful. But that’s solely provided on whether or not I’d have the money and equipment to set up shop - which I don’t. I’m not going to half arse it. I absolutely refuse to do that.
Then there’s the RAF. Royal Air Force. I’ve always wanted to go into the RAF since I first left school at sixteen but decided on the educational route, you know, playing it safe. How silly of me. But yeah, I have to wait until September to apply because of my arm and who knows what roles will be even recruiting at that time.
And lastly, there is becoming a personal trainer. More education. I’m begining to think, fuck that. When has education worked for me in the past. Thing is though, I’d probably do well at it since I have read and re-read Men’s Health magazines from the subscriptions I have had since I was seventeen. I’d be an awesome PT. Again, £3,500 for the course. Errrrr, norrrrrrrrrrrr!
Anyway, went completely off topic here, I only wanted to post about about how my allergy still hasn’t cleared up and how when you buy a t-shirt from ASOS in my size it is actually sized for SpongeBob SquarePants. No length whatsoever!
Geordie Shore, then bed. Goodnight.
January 23rd It’s getting worse if anything! Think I’ll blag the car for the next few days to go to crazy places running or to take pictures on the Horizon 202 (which I haven’t used since my minor project for my degree over two years ago). Although, I think sweating just agitates it and could be making it worse.
January 16th
January 4th Painting and decorating is harder and a lot more time-consuming then one would believe!
December 29th Cast is off. Feels so weird, I’m still moving my hand about as if it’s bent to the shape of the cast and my skin is really numb all the way up my arm. The bone is now starting to heal back together, you can still see the break in the bone with the new bone coming through to join it back together. Result.
Definitely won’t be playing football for at least six weeks until I go back to the hospital and even then I bet I’m only available to play a few games at the end of the season, hopefully a few cup finals though. Probably won’t play rugby again until next season though and that’s if I decide to play next season with a vigorous pre-season training schedule.
I’ve got far more important things to worry about then breaking my arm again, like getting super fit and injury free to join the RAF when the time comes. And even still, I need my arm to be fully functional and strong so that I can pass the medical and the assault course tests they make you do.
Been a while since I knocked up a decent personal post, no doubt this will upset a few people when they see a post with a passage of text on their dashboard.
December 16th Blagged (persuaded) my mother to purchase this gem whilst she was out shopping all day. It better be good though, even though the story is told by the main character in the book. I’m only up to the bit where you see her with that guy hunting in the woods on the movie trailer. I’ll have read it in two days I reckon.
Oh, and as if A Knight’s Tale is on TV tonight, one of my favourite films.
November 28th I’ll break personal text post silence (I know a minority of my followers have trouble with reading words and could easily be provoked into unfollowing) by finally getting round to using the medium format camera I bought probably over a month ago now. Attempted to use it today but the film wouldn’t wind on, so I googled it and there’s a lever that was set to multiple exposure which meant it would not allow the film to wind on. So tomorrow, testing a film out with some quick portraits.
October 25th 6:30am still haven’t slept. Even considered going for a run (though I know I would not at this ungodly of hours) but then remember I shouldn’t after yesterday’s 6.67miles of slogging it. My body isn’t used to those distances and especially so cross-country.
As if the sun hasn’t even risen yet. That’s crazy that. I can already hear that animal that keeps me up all summer that likes to say ‘cockadoodledoo’.
October 24th Monday 24th October 2011
Just endured the hardest run I have ever done. Nearly seven miles of hell (That is my close to death look by the way)Totally underestimated the actual distance and amount of hills aswell as not knowing an actual route through the countryside because I haven’t taken any of the public paths before. Initially thought it would be around 5-6 miles of easily do-able running, turned out to be treacherously hard and I must have stopped several times. Nearly passed out when I got home. Here’s the stats from my Garmin (click here)
October 22nd

Saturday 22nd October 2011 (evening)

Yes, two entries for one day is allowed. I bought The Beast costume from Beauty and The Beast for next Saturday. I initially purchased a Donald Duck mascot quality costume but spending over £40 for a fancy dress costume….. nah. I wanted The Beast costume last year but it wasn’t available in the UK, and it was one of my initial top choices for this year, so no complaints.

October 22nd

Saturday 22nd October 2011 (morning)

Since my alarm didn’t go off this morning for the 5km race, I think a nice gentle 4-5miler is on the cards before I go watch the rugby at the club, or watch the Sunderland match online (might be too cold to stand around outside for a few hours at the club).

Quite surprisingly I won an auction for a Bronica ETRS camera with a sly £140 bid in the early hours of this morning. £22 postage though, so decent value. I could even sell it for over £200 and make a profit (business mind).

October 19th

Wednesday 18th October 2011

Had no car today so no opportunity to go finish off this film that has been in my Horizon 202 (panoramic camera) for around two years. Instead I watched The Hangover 2 again since there is a DVD quality version online now, and also continued searching for a Bronica at the right price aswell as a fancy dress costume for next week.

For some reason all Bronica cameras are selling for over £200 on Ebay with the odd one going for a bit less but well used. How is it that they have went up in price over the last two years? I wish all these college kids didn’t just pick to do photography because ‘it’s cool’. It’s massively popular now.

I also ran around five miles up the back fields again, but a lot quicker this time and it was absolutely freezing. You can see your breath it’s that cold. I’m now below fifteen stone, so I have lost over a stone in two months. Since I broke my arm pretty much.

Interval sprints tomorrow with an abs & core session planned. I’ll be ultra fit for when I’m eligible to apply to the RAF.

October 19th Tuesday 18th October 2011
I had a rest day from running. Calfs and ‘hammies’ (hamstrings, you dickhead) felt a bit tight from 5km race Saturday, football match Sunday, and the run I did yesterday. Abs felt sore too. I find it hard to just sit back and do nothing to recover, especially if I’m feeling good about my fitness and ‘in the zone’.
How is it that Bronicas are now going for over £200 a go when last year I bought and sold one for £150? Struggling to find one for the right deal, one that looks in decent condition and is preferably one of the SQ range with a TTL prism. Decided to exercise the idea of buying a Kiev 88 which seems to produce fantastic results from the portraits I have seen on Flickr. After trawling a few forums on Bronicas vs Kievs (cameras, not the food), Kievs come short with people saying they can be unreliable and flimsy. Best stick to getting a Bronica then.
After turning my room upside down searching for the Garmin charger cradle which I still have no idea where it has ran off to, I came across my Horizon 202. Need to start taking pictures again on that, I love that camera, it’s the one camera I wouldn’t even consider selling. So might finish off a half done film that has been in there over two years. Perhaps the beach, or a country park would be fitting enough.
I don’t really wear glasses, my eyes are phenomenally (rock hard word to spell, took a few attempts before I gave up hope and right clicked) amazing, but I look slick as fuck…. no? I think I do anyway and that’s what matters most.
